Realtor Chris Chopik and seven other experts have come together to offer resources for anyone interested in sustainability. The group of eight addresses sustainability issues from food security and the local economy to fashion and real estate, says Chopik. Some of their potential clients include Realtors, community groups, business owners or governments, he says.

An instructor at the Toronto Real Estate Board, Chopik teaches realtors how to green their businesses and marketing. He encourages them to make eco-friendly changes, and then tell their clients—potentially hundreds per realtor—about those changes. “We have an incredible opportunity to help consumers understand it's in their interest—because the future value of their house is attached to energy consumption—and help them plug into homeowner facing green organizations.” (excerpt read more)

“It’s so frequently about what we’re against and our vote is motivated by fear of something awful instead of our hope for something great,” Chopik says.
The solution is cooperation.
“Everybody else says a strong voice of opposition, but I don’t understand,” he says. “We’re here to do something for our constituents, that’s province wide, we’re not here to battle each over minutia and get nowhere.”
